‘We got the Dodgers’ Kikuchi, 1 run in 6 innings to win 8…2 home runs + 11 hits explosion
Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Yusei Kikuchi shut down the Los Angeles Dodgers offense.
The Blue Jays cruised to an 8-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday (Sept. 27) at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. The Jays swept the three-game series.
Kikuchi was strong on the mound for Toronto. Kikuchi earned his eighth win of the season (3-0), allowing one run on seven hits with eight strikeouts and two walks over six innings. He shut down a Dodgers offense that had scored eight runs the day before.토토사이트
At the plate, Bo Bissett had three hits and two RBIs, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had two hits, and Merrifield had two hits (one home run) and four RBIs.
Dodgers starter Tony Gonsoli, who won 16 games last season, allowed five runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and three walks in five innings to take his fourth loss of the season. Gonsolin hasn’t won a game in three straight starts since Aug. 8 against the Los Angeles Angels.
Toronto struck first. In the second inning, leadoff hitter Guerrero Jr. singled to left. Chapman followed with a double up the middle to put runners on second and third and scored on a sacrifice fly by Merrifield.
In the top of the third, Biggio led off with a walk and after Springer flied out to center, Bissett singled to left to put runners on first and second. Brandon Belt followed with a single to right to make it 2-0.
Toronto added to its lead in the fifth inning. After Guerrero Jr. singled to right-center with one out, Chapman retired the side in left field, allowing Merrifield to blast a three-run homer over the left field fence. It made it 5-0.
In the top of the sixth, leadoff hitter Danny Jansen added a solo home run. Kikuchi, who had pitched a scoreless fifth inning, gave up a single with runners on second and third in the bottom of the sixth, but got out of the inning without further damage.
Kikuchi’s outing was complemented by Bissett’s RBI double in the eighth as Toronto avenged a 7-8 loss in extra innings the day before.
