Lee So-mi, 4th place in the JLPGA Salon Pas Cup, the turning point…Kim Su-ji and Park Min-ji passed the cut

Lee So-mi jumped into the competition to win the title, rising to 4th place by the second day of the JLPGA Tour World Ladies Salon Pas Cup (total prize money of 120 million yen).

In the second round of the tournament held at the Ibaraki Golf Club West Course (par 72) in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan on the 5th, Lee So-mi안전놀이터 caught two birdies and wrote down a double bogey and a bogey each to hit a 1-over par 73. Lee So-mi, who recorded an even par the previous day, rounded the halfway point with an interim total of 1 over par, 145 strokes, 5 strokes behind solo leader Yoshida Yuri (4 under par, 140 strokes), in 4th place.

This tournament, held as the first major of the season on the JLPGA tour, qualifies for participation up to the 50th place in the world rankings as of the end of last year. Along with Lee So-mi, who plays on the Korean Women’s Professional Golf (KLPGA) tour, Kim Su-ji and Park Min-ji participated in this tournament in this capacity.

Kim Su-ji hit an interim total of 4-over par of 148 to confirm her advance to the finals with a tie for 11th place, and Park Min-ji tied for 18th with Shin Ji-ae and others by hitting an interim total of 6-over par of 150.

The green at the Ibaraki Golf Club, where the tournament was held, was hard and fast, and strong winds blew that day, resulting in over pars. In the second round, only three players finished the match with an under par: first place Yoshida Yuri, Koiwai Sakura, and Morita Haruka.

Among Korean players, Lee Ha-na scored an even par of 144 to rank in a tie for second place, while Bae Seon-wu and Jeon Mi-jeong tied for 52nd (9 over par, 153 strokes) and were named on the list of finalists.
