The post-crime image of Jung Jeong-jeong (23), who murdered a woman her age whom she met through a tutoring brokerage application (app) and disfigured and abandoned her body, was captured on CCTV. She is seen walking while dragging a suitcase (carrier) to carry the body, and her light steps are shocking as if she is travelling.

According to the CCTV released by the Busan National Police Agency on the 1st, Jung Yoo-jeong, who came out after killing A at the home of A, a woman in her 20s in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, on the 26th of last month, is heading back to the victim’s house with a suitcase from her own residence.

In the CCTV, Jung’s gait is unyielding. Wearing a mask and a black skirt, she flutters her hair and walks with a wide stride.

Regarding Jung Yoo-jeong’s gait, lawyer Son Soo-ho said on CBS Radio’s “Kim Hyun-jung’s News Show” on the same day, “Rather than a sense of guilt or fear, I think it might be the opposite.

According to police, Jung had no social ties, was a recluse, and hadn’t held a job since graduating from high school. Forensics on his mobile phone showed that he had been searching for “murder” and other terms online since February. He also borrowed crime novels from the library.

After deciding on a target, he bought a second-hand school uniform and went to visit the victim.

After completing the killing spree, he went back to A’s house with a suitcase, disfigured the body, and put some of the body parts in the suitcase. At around 0:50 the next day, she took a taxi and dumped the body in the grass along the Nakdong River in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, about 10 kilometres from A’s house. At the time, the taxi driver carrying Jung Yoo-jeong was suspicious of the woman dragging the suitcase into the bushes at dawn and called the police.

Jung was charged with murder and abandonment of a corpse. Three days before the crime, he approached A on a tutoring brokerage app, pretending to be a parent of a third-grade child. He searched for targets through the app and chose A, who lived alone안전놀이터, as his target.

On the night of the 31st of last month, Jung reportedly revealed his motive to the police, saying, “I felt the urge to kill while watching criminal investigations on TV, which I was very interested in.”

The Busan National Police Agency held a review committee on the disclosure of personal information the previous afternoon and released Jung’s face, name and age. The review committee said, “The gravity and brutality of the crime is acknowledged, and it is judged that there is a great need for public interest, such as the preventive effect on similar crimes,” as the reason for the disclosure.
