Jeong Jeong-yong leads U-20 World Cup runners-up, Gimcheon Sangmu at the helm
Jeong Jung-yong has been appointed as the new메이저사이트 head coach of the Gimcheon Sangmu Professional Football Club.
Gimcheon Sangmu Professional Football Club announced on the 26th that it has appointed Jung Jung-yong as the second head coach of Gimcheon Sangmu.
Chung was the head coach of the U-20 national team in 2019, leading the men’s team to its first-ever runner-up finish at a FIFA-organised tournament. He also led Seoul Eiland for three seasons from November 2019 to the end of 2022.
With Cho Young-wook, the U-20 runner-up, and former U-20 national team players Lee Ji-sol, Uhm Won-sang and Jeong Ho-jin on the first list of the ’23 Second National Armed Forces Athletes (Byeong)’ list, Chung will once again be expected to work in synergy.
Sung Han-soo, who served as head coach for the first half of the 2023 season, will return as assistant coach and assist Jeong alongside the existing coaches.
“Being appointed in the middle of the season, I have a lot of responsibility. I will do my best as head coach to achieve the K League 2 championship and K League 1 promotion that all fans are looking forward to.”
Meanwhile, Gimcheon Sangmu coach Jung Jung-yong will take charge of the team from 1 June and will make his managerial debut on 4 June against Jeonnam Dragons.
