After conceding the first goal, Gangwon quickly took over the offense and increased the pace of the game. In the 35th minute, Kim Dae-woo attempted a right-footed shot from the far right side of the penalty area, but it was blocked by the keeper.

In urgent need of an equalizer, Gangwon introduced Lee Jung-hyeop in place of Park Sang-hyuk in the 36th minute of the first half, but was unable to turn the tide in the first half. In the second half, Gangwon took off Min-woo and introduced Gallego, while Seoul made no changes.
