Defending Champ Kim Bio, SK Telecom Open Challenge for Most Championships

The 6th tournament of the 2023 Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Korean Tour (1st Division), ‘SK Telecom Open’ will be held from the 18th to the 21st with a total prize money of 1.3 billion won and 147 players.

The 26th SK Telecom Open will be held on the East and West courses of Pinx GC (par 71, 7326 yards) in Seogwipo, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. If you win, you will receive ▲ prize money of 260 million won ▲ KPGA Korean Tour 2024-2027 seed ▲ 1200 Genesis points.

If defending champion Kim Bio (33, Hoban Construction) achieves two consecutive SK Telecom Open titles, she will be tied for first place with Choi Kyung-ju (53, SK Telecom) for the most wins in the tournament. Bio Kim won the SK Telecom토스카지노 Open in 2012 and 2022, and Kyung-Ju Choi won the SK Telecom Open in 2003, 2005 and 2008.

Choi Jin-ho (39, Cowell) also aims to reach the top of the SK Telecom Open for the third time following 2015 and 2017. Park Sang-hyun (2009), Lee Sang-hee (2016), Kwon Seong-yeol (2018), Ham Ham-woo (2019) are also former champions participating in this tournament.

Bio Kim won 9 times, including 8 wins on the KPGA Korean Tour from 2010 to 2022 and 1 win on the 2011 One Asia Tour, but has never succeeded in defending the title as the champion of the previous tournament.

This is another reason to be determined to win this tournament held at Seogwipo Pinx GC, which has a pleasant memory of winning the SK Telecom Open in 2012 and 2022.

Bio Kim said, “I’m nervous enough to compete as a defending champion.” As much as he personally likes Jeju Island, he seems to be able to play comfortably all four days. The goal is, of course, to win two consecutive tournaments.”

Last season, Bio Kim broke the SK Telecom Open 72 hole 72-hole record at the same time as the lowest number of strokes and the largest margin of victory (7 strokes) at the Pinx GC with a final total of 19 under par and 265 strokes.

He has not yet won a championship this year, but ▲ 1st in drive distance ▲ 6th in average birdie ▲ 10th in average putt, etc. 2023 KPGA Korean Tour personal record TOP10 in three categories.
